Dimensions of Ball and Bat

One should know the measurements of a racket and the ball along with ping pong table dimensions. The ping pong ball has a diameter of 40 mm. It is hollow and made of celluloid. Earlier, the ball diameter used to be 38 mm. If a ball gets 3 star rating, it means that the roundness and bounce are consistent. Ideally, the ball should weigh 2.7 g. The racket or bat used for table tennis should have a length of 10.6 cm. The height and width need to be 19.36 cm and 15.24 cm respectively. Weight of the racket is around 180 grams. The racket is known by the names 'bat' and 'paddle' in Europe and US respectively.

The game of ping pong developed a lot after its inception in Britain. The Table Tennis Association was formed in the year 1921 in London; it was followed by the founding of International Tennis Federation in 1926. In 1988, the game of ping pong was introduced in Olympics.

Ping Pong Table Dimensions

A ping pong table is made from Masonite which is a hardboard made of wooden chips. The wooden chips used for making such hardboards are treated beforehand with steam in order to form long fibers. These fibers are in turn used for making boards. The dimensions of ping pong table are provided below.

* Length: The length of ping pong table should be 9 feet. In terms of metric system of measurement, the length is 2.74 m. It is the standard length as specified by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). Length of the table is divided into two halves by a net.

New Orleans Saints Win First Super Bowl Ever

The New Orleans Saints appeared to be a team of destiny during the 2009 NFL regular season and through the postseason. With a gunslinging quarterback in Drew Brees, two bruising running backs in Pierre Thomas and Mike Bell and a jack-of-all-trades Reggie Bush just a few of the names behind the Saints’ success, the team shook off decades of futility to win its first-ever Super Bowl. The party last night in and around Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida was raucous, as it was in the Saints locker room. Nowhere, however, was the party livelier than in New Orleans itself, where long-suffering residents did what they do best – celebrate.

Asked about the historic moment, Saints players reacted with glee and gravitas. Said Drew Brees, the Super Bowl MVP, "What can I say? We played for so much more than just ourselves. We played for our city. We played for the entire Gulf Coast region. We played for the entire Who Dat Nation who was behind us every step of the way." Asked if he thought football helped in the emotional healing process of the city, Brees noted, "Absolutely. Are you kidding me? I mean, four years ago, whoever thought this would be happening? We just all looked at one another and said, ‘We’re going to rebuild together. We’re going to lean on each other.’"

How to Do an Ollie on a Tech Deck?

You will need a miniature skateboard to perform this trick. Place your index finger between the front (nose) of the board and the logo, right in the middle so that you perform a higher and more controlled ollie. Your middle finger will have to be placed on the tail of the board.

Keeping your middle finger steady, simply push the tail down with it, as hard as you can. The front end of the ollie will rise up in the air and you can keep moving the board this way for a while. Now slide your index finger from the center of the board to the front end or nose, with your hand moving to an almost vertical position.

How to Do An Ollie on a Skateboard

Step 1
To start with, you have got to check your stance on the skateboard. To do an ollie, you will have to place your back foot in such a manner that it is placed on the tail of the skateboard. Now your front foot needs to be placed in the middle of the skateboard, ensuring that it is between the front and middle trucks of your skateboard. It is mandatory to get the stance right before you set out to do an ollie.

Step 2
When you do an ollie with the skateboard in motion, it is known as a rolling ollie, which is what we shall learn. Bend your knees as low as you can while standing on the skateboard. The more you bend your knees, the higher you will go when you perform the ollie. While you are rolling on your skateboard, you will have to bang your back foot which is on the tail, as hard as you can. That's the point where you will jump in the air, with the help of your back foot. The important thing to keep in mind here is the timing of your jump. You will need some practice to get it right. As soon as the tail of your skateboard hits the ground, you will have to jump off that foot in the air, pulling it up as high and as quickly as possible.

Step 3
When you jump in the air, you must ensure that your front foot is slightly inward, so that you can guide your skateboard while it is in air. This part also requires some practice and can get a little dicey at times, so be careful while you attempt this.

Step 4
Another crucial thing to keep in mind while you are jumping, is that you should try and pull your knees up, as high as you can. You should aim to touch your knees to your chest. To perform a high ollie, two things matter most. The first being, how much you can bend your knees at the beginning, and the second, how high can you pull your feet up while jumping in the air.

Step 5
While landing, make sure you keep your knees bent. This is important because, when you land, the bent knees will act as a shock absorber and prevent any damage to your knees from the impact while landing. It will also help to maintaining proper balance while landing.

How to Do a Front Flip on a Snowboard

Step 1
To learn how to do a front flip on a snowboard, start by moving down on the slope and slightly transfer your weight on the back foot, so that you can increase your speed while going for the jump.

Step 2
When you are approaching the jump, incline towards the front to keep up your balance and bend your knees. Your arms must be as close to your body as possible to counter any wind resistance you may face.

Step 3
As you are just about to jump, elope from the nose of the snowboard like a spring, by pushing all your body weight forward. While in air, simply rotate your body keeping the snowboard and your legs together and in sync with the transfer of body weight while flipping.

Step 4
Bend your knees while landing to prevent any jerk or knee injury. You may require a lot of practice before you get this right, so don't lose hope after a failed, first attempt. Read more about snowboarding.

How to Do a Front Flip on the Ground

Step 1
To learn how to do a front flip with hands, on the ground, it is better to get a person who knows the trick so that he is able to guide you through the process by keeping a check on your positions. Also, practice this in an open place where you have plenty of space to move forward and backward, preferably a park or your compound.

Step 2
Start by taking a sprint. This will help you garner velocity, which will provide you necessary momentum required for doing the front flip. When you feel you have reached your maximum speed while running, that is when you take the jump.

Step 3
While jumping, ensure that you jump as high as you can and try to reach your knees all the way up to your chest. Ideally, in this position, you should appear like a 'human ball' to your spotter. Getting your knees up, high gives the necessary flexibility and momentum to perform the front flip.

Step 4
When you are in this tucked position in air, keep your head position in such a way that you can see straight ahead, and then flip in the air. Once you have rotated completely, only then get out of the 'human ball' position, that you have got into earlier, so that you loose momentum and land safely.

Step 5
Once you have uncurled yourself and are about to land, keep your feet apart and knees bent to ensure a firm and balanced landing. Also, bending your knees will help you in avoiding any damage you may cause to your knees, while landing.

How to Do a Front Flip on a Trampoline

Step 1
To learn how to do a front flip on a trampoline, you should initially pick up the correct landing way to prevent any injuries. Try out a few somersaults on the trampoline without jumping up and down, which will help you with the landing.

Step 2
When you are trying out these somersaults, do it by placing your chin and legs on your chest, and hands on the trampoline which will help the body to move forward with force. Start taking short jumps on the trampoline, and while you are at it, roll on and do a short somersault without the use of hands. While landing, fall on your back as you would, while attempting a somersault on the ground.

Step 3
Start by jumping on the trampoline six to eight times, and when you feel you have reached your highest jump, tuck in your body by pulling up your knees to your chest, along with getting your chin down to the chest. To help gain momentum while rotating, make sure you swing your arms forward to above your head when you jump.

Step 4
While landing, come down on your feet and do a few more short jumps to absorb the velocity from the flip and also to avoid any hard impact on the feet. Read about some trampoline tricks.
